Detailed Binder Screen
The Detailed Binder screen is where you can view, organize, and manage all content within a specific binder. This screen provides a comprehensive view of your binder's contents, including extracts, links, and documents, along with metadata and organizational tools.
Header Section
At the top of the screen, you'll find:
Binder Name: Displays the current binder's name (e.g., "Test 2222")
Back Arrow: Returns you to the previous screen or binder list
Delete Button: Located in the top right corner, allows you to delete the entire binder
Action Bar
Below the header, you have quick access to key functions:
Insert Content: Add new content items to your binder
Link to Category: Organize your binder by linking it to categories
Sort: Arrange your content according to different criteria
Content Sections
The main area is divided into three panels that organize different types of content:
1. Extracts Panel
This panel displays extracts (screenshots) you've saved to the binder.
Features:
View all extracted content with timestamps
Each extract shows the creation date and time
Click the expand icon to view full extract details
2. Links Panel
This section contains any web links associated with the binder.
Status Display:
Shows "You do not have any links" when the section is empty
Click the expand icon to view all saved links when available
3. Documents Panel
This panel houses uploaded PDF documents and files related to your binder.
Features:
View document names with timestamps
Each document shows when it was added
Click the expand icon to access document details
Binder Information Sidebar
The right sidebar provides essential metadata about your binder:
Created By
Shows the user who created the binder (e.g., "John Casenoter")
Created On
Displays the original creation date and time (e.g., "Aug 8, 2025 • 8:25 AM")
Last Updated
Shows when the binder was most recently modified (e.g., "Aug 27, 2025 • 9:03 AM")
Description
A text field containing the binder's description or notes (e.g., "Test")
You can edit the description to add or modify information about the binder's purpose or contents.
Adding Content
The Insert Content function allows you to add Content to your binder.
To add content to your binder:
Click the Insert Content button in the action bar - provides access to all your content.
A content type selection menu will appear
Choose the type of content you want to add:
Extract (Screenshots)
Link (web URLs, references)
Document (uploaded PDFs)
The selection panel includes search and filtering capabilities to help you quickly find specific content:
Search:
Click in the search box at the top of the Extracts panel
Type keywords to search through your extract names and content
Results filter in real-time as you type
Clear the search to view all extracts again
Filter by New Content:
New Content is content which has not been added to a Binder, nor had a Keyword added to it. This helps you quickly identify content which has not been organised into a Binder
Below the search box, you'll see a checkbox option labelled "Filter By New Content"
Click the checkbox to toggle this filter on or off - Only New Content will be displayed
Click the content to add it to your binder
The added content will appear in the appropriate panel (Extracts, Links, or Documents) with a timestamp showing when it was created.
Linking to Categories
Categories help organize your binder.
Casenoter allows you to link your binder to one category, which can be whatever you wish.
Your Binders will then be displayed on the Binder Screen under your Categories.
To link your binder to a category:
Click the Link to Category button in the action bar
A category selection panel will appear
Use the search bar at the top to find one of your categories
Browse existing categories displayed below the search bar
Click on a category name to select it
The selected category will appear under "Linked Category:"
Note the restriction: "You can only link to one category" (displayed in red)
Create a New Category
Click the + button next to the search bar to create a new category if needed
Change Linked Category
If you've already linked a category and want to change it,
click the X button next to the current category name to remove it first
select a new category
Once satisfied with your selection, the link is automatically saved
Sorting Content
The Sort function allows you to organize how content appears in all three panels (Extracts, Links, and Documents). This helps you find items based on different criteria.
To sort your binder content:
Click the Sort button in the action bar (located in the top right of the screen)
A dropdown menu will appear with sorting options:
Sort by name: A to Z - Alphabetically from A to Z
Sort by name: Z to A - Reverse alphabetical order
Sort by Date: Newest to Oldest - Most recently created items first
Sort by Date: Oldest to Newest - Earliest created items first
Click your preferred sorting option
All content panels will immediately reorganize according to your selection
To clear the current sort selection, click "Remove selection" at the top of the dropdown menu
Sort behaviour:
The sort applies to all content types simultaneously (Extracts, Links, and Documents)
Your sort preference is maintained as you navigate within the binder
Default sorting is typically by date (newest to oldest)
Sorting helps you quickly locate recently added items or find content alphabetically
Viewing Content Details
To open and view the full details of any content item:
Click on the content item in any of the three panels
The Detailed Content screen will open
View all attributes, tags, and associated information
Expanding Panel Views
Each content panel (Extracts, Links, Documents) has an expand icon in the top right corner:
Click to view the panel in full-screen mode
Useful when you have many items and need more space to browse
Click again to return to the three-panel view
Sidebar Navigation
Access other areas of the application using the left sidebar:
Home: Return to your main content library
My Binders: View all your binders
Library: Browse & Search published content
Returning to Previous Screen
Click the back arrow at the top left of the header to return to:
The My Binders list
The Home screen
Your previous location in the app
