User Guide: Detailed Content
Overview
The Detailed Content screen displays comprehensive information about a selected piece of content in the Casenoter App. Access this screen by selecting any content item from your Home Screen, the Library Screen or the Group Screen.
Accessing Detailed Content
How to Select Content
Click or tap on any content item to open the Detailed Content screen
Tip: Recently updated content appears at the top when sorted by "Date Updated"
Content Detail Screen Layout
The Detailed Content screen consists of three main sections:
1. Main Content Area
Depending on your content type, you'll see:
Extract
Full text or excerpt you've saved
Complete notes and annotations
Highlights or important sections
Link
Original URL or web link
Link metadata and description
Navigation to external source
Document
Full document viewer with PDF browser
Document properties and metadata
All pages accessible via thumbnail navigation
2. Action Bar (Top)
Available actions include:
Back button (←): Return to applicable Screen
Duplicate: Create a copy of the content
Delete: Delete the content
Link to Binder: Link content to one of your binders
Add Tags: Apply custom tags for organization
Publish to Library: Share your content with other users
3. Right Side Bar
Displays:
Created By: Creator's name
Created On: Original creation date and time
Last Updated: Most recent modification date and time
Description: Editable description field
Keywords: Topic Tree Branch keywords added to the Content
Working with Content Attributes
Name and Description
As Creator:
You can edit the Name of your content at any time
You can edit the Description even after publishing
Changes are saved automatically
As Non-Creator:
You cannot edit the Name or Description of published content created by others
You can only view these attributes
Keywords (Topic Tree Branches)
A Topic Tree Branch consists of:
Area of Law
Topic
Keyword
Adding Keywords to Your Content
Click the Keywords + button in the right sidebar
Type in the Keyword you wish to add to the Content
Search for existing Topic Tree Branches using that Keyword
Select an applicable branch from the list
If no suitable keyword exists:
Click "Add Keyword to Topic Tree" button
The Topic Tree Builder will open
Select an Area of Law (required first step)
Select or type a Topic
Your Keyword will have been entered
Click "Add To Topic Tree" to save the Keyword into the Topic Tree.
Note: New Topic Tree Branches you create are added to the Casenoter Topic Tree for use by all members.
Tags
You can only Add Tags to your own Content - you CAN NOT add Tags to Content created by another User.
Tags provide flexible organization beyond formal keywords:
Click "Add Tags" button
Search for existing tags in the search field
Click on an existing tag to add it, or
Type a new tag name
Click the + button to create a new tag
You can Filter your own Content on the Home Screen using your Tags.
Duplicating Content
Any user can duplicate content, including published library content:
Click the Duplicate button
A new content item is created with:
You as the Creator
Copied keywords
Title prefixed with "Duplicate of..."
No description (must be added manually)
The duplicated content appears on your Home Screen
You can now link it to your binders and edit all attributes
Linking Content to Binders
You can only link your own Content to a Binder - you CAN NOT Content created by another User to a Binder.
As Creator:
You can link your content to binders at any time
This works even for published content
As Non-Creator:
You cannot link published content created by others to your binders
To use someone else's published content in a binder:
Duplicate the content
The duplicate appears on your Home Screen
Link the duplicate to your binder
Publishing to Library
To share your content with other Casenoter members:
Click "Publish to Library" toggle
Review the confirmation dialog
Click Confirm to publish
Important Notes:
Publishing cannot be reversed
You can delete published content if needed
Other users can view and duplicate your published content
You retain full editing rights to your published content
